Briarcliff Elementary

This garden is a grand adventure for us. We are looking forward to using this garden to teach our children responsibility, community, and healthy choices. While we are not planning at this time to take the garden to salad bar route, this opportunity will allow children to experience creating a garden and growing food that will help them learn to make better choices for a healthy lifestyle. Because of our intention to use the food as part of a food bank, the children will experience the joy of helping others. We have a very close knit community next door to the school. Many of our students come from this community and the rapport that we develop using the garden will go a long way toward making our students' education a priority for their parents. To sum it up, this garden will help us teach a healthy lifestyle to students as well as build a stronger link with the community.
