Lincoln Elementary
Our gardens mission statement is: To cultivate student curiosity and exploration, provide opportunities for hands on learning in school curriculum subjects while improving the health and well-being of students, families, and the larger community. A school garden enables the children to care for other living things and learn about the importance of taking care of our environment. If we are to receive this generous grant from Whole Kids Foundation, we would be able to build a fence and an arbor to make our garden even more productive by protecting it from the heavy flow of pedestrians, and better able to serve classes of children that otherwise may quickly spread out into the play area. We want as many children as possible to be able to come out to experience and appreciate nature, use all their senses while making connections between the garden and their classroom studies of science, math, social studies, language arts, and more.
