About the Program:

Tamarack Waldorf School's School Garden goals include:
1. Helping our students create, support and sustain a community garden so they learn to connect with nature in engaging, nurturing and inspirational ways.
2. Strengthening indoor classroom curriculum and lessons through the integration and development of our garden.
3. Increasing our student's fruit and vegetable knowledge, preference and consumption.

A grant from Whole Kids Foundation will help us reach our goals, by:
1. Fostering a cooperative spirit among our school and local community by creating a community garden that will benefit our entire neighborhood.
2. Implementing effective teaching strategies based on hands-on and experiential learning.
3. Providing daily maintenance of the garden, and creating a model garden for Tamarack Waldorf School.
4. Delivering in-depth garden-based nutrition education to more than 200 students, in addition to parents and community members.
5. Keeping our students, teachers, parents and community informed about our community garden through consistent communication both online and off.
