Westmont High School

The goal of our garden at Westmont High School is to grow food that we can eat in our food service at the school, and also for us to be involved with the growing of the garden and to learn from it. This is one of the best opportunities a class has provided to the students of Westmont High School because it is giving us the chance to be hands-on and to help the environment. We are also able to give back to our school that always gives so much to us. The school provides us with the classes and teachers for us to learn, and it is nice that we are able to give back to them while learning about the environment at the same time. With this grant, we will be able to branch out and provide food to other places in need, such as a food pantry. This grant will not only help our garden to grow, but it will also help all of us to grow as individuals. We will be able to learn about our environment hands-on by growing the plants from seeds. We will not only provide for ourselves, but we will also provide food for those in need as well. We all can benefit from the garden this way (Written by student Vanessa P.).
