Ventura High School
The goal for this project at Ventura High School is to provide an outdoor learning space for all students. The space will be separated into four distinct areas. The first one will be an open space with picnic tables for an entire class to use during a class period. Next to this classroom space, there will be a demonstration area where students will be able to create structures out of sand. The third area will be a re-creation of a mountain region with larger boulders that will demonstrate the process of a watershed where water will flow into a bioswale that will be running throughout the entire space. The fourth region will be an isolated area that can be used a meeting area for staff and faculty. Throughout this entire space will will have fruit trees that can be used in our culinary class as well as other edible plants. This space already includes a vegetable and herb garden, we hope to build on to that to have more fresh food for the students to eat.
