Planning Your Visit 

The Edible Schoolyard is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, California. The address of the school is 1781 Rose Street. The main entrance is located near the intersection of Rose and Grant streets.

During school hours, all visitors should sign in at King Middle School's main office. When school is not in sessions, the Edible Schoolyard garden is freely open to the public.

ARRIVING ON CAMPUS 
Directions to the main office: Take the Rose street stairs (just west of Grant Street) into the atrium. The main office is on your left. Sign into the visitor's log on the front desk and put on a visitor's sticker. Please make sure to return to the office and sign out before leaving campus.

Grant Street ends at the entrance to the school campus and the Edible Schoolyard garden and kitchen are on the right as you enter the school.


PARKING 

There is plenty of free street parking in the neighborhood near the school. We advise reading street signs that indicated time limits and street sweeping schedules. Take care to not block anyone's driveway! Do not leave anything valuable visible in your car.  

PUBLIC TRANSIT 

AC Transit: King Middle School is served by the 12 (Map & Schedule) and 79 (Map & Schedule) bus lines. Local fare is $2.35 for a single ride. 

Train: The nearest BART station is North Berkeley. The school is a quick fifteen-minute walk from there. To plan your trip, visit bart.gov
