Reynolds Middle School Community Garden

 Reynolds Community Garden was founded in 2011 by teachers and staff who wanted to increase community involvement and help families eat healthy on a daily basis. 9 of the 12 boxes our garden has are used by refugee families in the Lancaster area. The other 3 are used by our "Green Club" as part of the after-school program. 

The Springs Seedlings

 The Seedlings Project is a garden classroom that was created following the model of The Edible Schoolyard, a garden established by Alice Waters, Owner of Chez Panisse Restaurant in Berkeley, California. With land allocated by the Springs School District, the center of the project is a greenhouse for teaching, learning, and growing. Project MOST, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, and experienced community organization dedicated to high quality after school programs for children, has taken the lead to establish this project and has made it shine.

Boulder Elementary School

 At Boulder Elementary School 72% of the students in Kindergarten through 6th grade qualify for free or reduced lunches (2011 OPI data). Also according to a recent article in USA Today, today's youth are spending on the average 53+ hours a week in front of electronics of some sort. Obesity rates relate to this sedentary trend, shown in statistics from 2007 Montana had 25.6% of youth that were overweight or obese.

Students for Environmental Sustainability

SES (Students for Environmental Sustainability) is a year old organization started by students at Kennesaw State University outside of Atlanta. The purpose of this organization is to develope a sustainable model of local food production and distribution in an urban environment. 

 

Sustainable Molokai

 Sust`āinable Molokai is a local, grassroots group formed to inspire youth and all Molokai residents to work toward a more sustainable future for our island.

As a community-led and driven process, Sust`āinable Molokai adopts a broad and inclusive approach. We draw upon the strengths inherent in our island´s close-knit community and seek to cultivate symbiotic and diverse partnerships for projects designed to become self-supporting.

MA‘O Organic Farms

Our community of Wai‘anae is located on the west side of the island of O‘ahu and consists of six major ahupua‘a (ancient land divisions). In ancient times, Wai‘anae was a self-sufficient region that produced adequate amounts of food for its people while managing its land and water resources sustainably.

Mala‘ai School Garden at Waimea Middle School

Mala`ai: The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School cultivates the relationship between students and the land through growing and sharing nourishing food in our outdoor living classroom. Our work reaches beyond the boundaries of our garden connecting land stewardship, culture, health and pleasure with lifelong learning.

Kua O Ka La Public Charter School

Vision:
Kua O Ka Lā has adopted the concept of `Ke Ala Pono – The Right Path – to describe our goal of nurturing and developing our youth. We believe that every individual has a unique potential and that it is our responsibility to help our students learn to work together within the local community to create a future that is pono – right.

To provide students of the Puna and Hilo communities with a quality education that addresses their distinctive learning styles in order to enable them to become contributing members of society.

Prescott Farmers Market

The Prescott Farmers Market is a non-profit farmers’ cooperative organization, that operates three markets in the Prescott area. In addition to the markets, PFM supports schools in garden construction and maintenence projects through their school garden grant program and hosts a FoodCorps service member. In partnership with PFM the service member teaches nurtition and supports school garden programs in local schools while working with community partners to increase Farm to School programs in all three school districts.
