About the Program:

Our primary goal is to grow edible plants that can be used by our Culinary Arts students. The school has an active and popular culinary arts program that provides hands-on experience for students who want to learn skills needed for careers in the food service industry. The garden will enhance learning by providing them with the opportunity to tie their experiences growing plants to their studies. Our school is highly diverse and has a range of students from all parts of the globe and at all levels of ability. We envision the garden as a common meeting ground for all of our students who can contribute to the project. Finally, we expect to be able to share our harvest with students and families who, due to financial constraints, may have limited access to fresh and wholesome produce. It is our hope that by doing so we can teach the importance of proper nutrition and foster a love of fresh, high qualify food.

We received funding from Whole Kids Foundation to get our garden started.
